Cicero Farms Fire Diamonds Starts Three-Year-Old Season with a Win

He Be Fire N Ice’s Cicero Farms’ First Two-Year-Old Winner Fire Diamonds Continues Her Winning Ways in 2020

The flashy chestnut filly, Fire Diamonds started her 2020 racing season showing versatility for her trainer Steve Sherman. Piloted by Richard Gonzalez, Fire Diamonds dropped back as much as six lengths off the leader before rallying for her second win in a Starter Allowance at Golden Gate Fields. The Cicero Farms filly showed flexibility and class similar to that of her sire, He Be Fire N Ice, in her 2020 debut. Fire Diamonds continues her winning ways by scoring her first victory of the season.

In her third start since transferring to Sherman’s Golden Gate barn, Fire Diamonds took her first 2020 start on the Tapeta in a Starter Allowance for Fillies three years old. Showing a new racing style, Fire Diamonds raced closest to the leader, Urban Diva. Into the second turn, she rallied three-wide to the stretch. Confidently, ridden by Gonzalez, Fire Diamonds, too over nearing mid-stretch and raced to a three-length victory.

Fire Diamonds paid $13.60 to win $6.60 for place and $5.40 for show. Fire Diamonds was bred based on a similar cross to that of Grade II winning Lethal Heat. We expect to see more excitement from this filly in the coming 2020 campaign.
