Cicero Farms Gets Another Perfect Ice Storm Win

Perfect Ice Storm Storms to Another Victory for He Be Fire N Ice and Cicero Farms

In her second start for 2020, Perfect Ice Storm showed her blistering fast speed. Content to track the pace from off the rail then three-wide, Perfect Ice Storm roused and quickly advanced on the second turn. She gained the lead nearing the quarter marker, shook free under the masterful ride by jockey Drayden VanDyke and extended the margin under a few left-hand taps. She sealed her second victory with a seven and quarter-length victory today at Santa Anita.

Perfect Ice Storm’s second victory comes from stretching out to a mile compared to her previous victory at six and a half furlongs. Perfect Ice Storm settled comfortably two and a half lengths of the lead waiting for her jockey’s signal to move. Winsinfashion was hustled to the front, with Discrete Stevie B prompting the pace over a good track. At the half-mile, VanDyke asked Perfect Ice Storm to begin her move, at the three-quarter pole, she was well in control a length and half in front of the pack. On the turn, Perfect Ice Storm continued to pick it up, securing a three and a half-length margin by the top of the stretch. Hand ridden to the wire, she finished the mile over a tiring track in 1:40.92.

Returning $7.40 for a $2 win wager, the 4-year old He Be Fire N Ice filly increased her earnings to $30,997. Perfect Ice Storm out of Stormin Quality by Stormin Fever produced the first winner for Cicero Farms by their sire He Be Fire N Ice. Perfect Ice Storm is the fifth foal and winner by stakes-winning Stormin Quality mare. Perfect Ice Storm has a pedigree cross similar to stakes-winning Pacific Heat.
