Cicero Farms Gets First Debut Winner
He Be Fire N Ice Gives Cicero Farms First Debut Winner From a Flordia Bred Mare
The sizzling fast grey filly, Ice Kitty, went gate to wire during her debut for Cicero Farms and trainer Tim Yakteen at Los Alamotis. Ice Kitty, with an excellent early foot, set a pressured pace from the rail. The first foal by her dam Ridge Kitten, by Monsieur Cat, proved to be a worthy opponent for the field of six, winning her debut at five and one-half furlongs on a fast dirt track.
In gate to wire fashion, Ice Kitty popped from the gate and led through fractions of 22 and 45.97 on a fast track. Hot Magistrate forced the pace from between rivals, continued outside winner around the bend and into the lane, challenging throughout the drive. Ice Kitty retained a slim advantage into the lane, and gamely in her first race turned back the outside rival. Like her sire, He Be Fire N Ice, Ice Kitty was ridden to her maiden victory by jockey Joe Talamo.
Returning $18.00 for a $2 win wager, the 3-year old He Be Fire N Ice filly has earnings of $12,600. Ice Kitty out of Ridge Kitten by Monsieur Cat produced the first debut winner for Cicero Farms and is by their sire He Be Fire N Ice. Cicero Farms chose Ridge Kitten to bred to He Be Fire N Ice based on a similar cross of stakes-winning Pacific Heat and Stealthediamonds. So far, that decision seems to be a good one.
