Perfect Ice Storm Second Winner for Sire He Be Fire N Ice

Leaving competitors frozen in their tracks, she danced to a six and half-length victory today at Santa Anita

Perfect Ice Storm out of Stormin Quality by Stormin Fever produced the first winner for Cicero Farms by their sire He Be Fire N Ice. Perfect Ice Storm is the fifth foal and winner by stakes winning Stormin Quality mare. Based on a similar cross of stakes-winning Pacific Heat prompted the decision to breed Stormin Quality to He Be Fire N Ice and so far that decision seems to be a good one. Returning $8 for a $2 win wager, the 3-year old He Be Fire N Ice filly, Perfect Ice Storm, increased her earnings to $14,146.

In gate-to-wire fashion, Perfect Ice Storm blasted from the gate and led through fractions of 21.80 and 44.89 on a sloppy, sealed track. Tizbuds Princess dragged her rider forward to chase, only to give way and fade to sixth. On the turn, Perfect Ice Storm continued to pick it up and hit the six-furlong mark in 1:09.59 while securing her six and a half-length victory at the top of the stretch. Hand ridden to the wire jockey Maldonado and she finished the six and a half furlongs in 1:16.17.
